Q: What makes your wellness coaching different from other programs?
A: My approach is rooted in lifestyle medicine and behavioral science, not spirituality or abstract concepts. I've completed Harvard's 15-week Lifestyle Medicine and Wellness Coaching program, plus additional certifications in health promotion and behavior change. We focus on six evidence-based pillars: Breathe, Move, Nourish, Rest, Grow, and Gratitude. Every recommendation I make is backed by research, and we work together to create sustainable changes that fit your real life - no quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions.
Q: What are your qualifications as a wellness coach?
A: I'm currently operating with an 'in formation' model, combining formal training with client practice while pursuing full certification. I've completed Harvard's comprehensive Lifestyle Medicine and Wellness Coaching course covering nutrition, habit formation, behavior change, and health promotion, plus additional Harvard CME certifications. I'm also an ISSA Certified Personal TrainerĀ and actively researching advanced certifications like Georgetown's Wellness Coaching Certificate. This combination gives me both the scientific foundation and practical tools to support your wellness journey effectively.
Q: How much does wellness coaching cost?
A: I offer three main options to fit different needs and budgets:
Wellness Jumpstart Pack: $200 (regularly $240) - Self-guided program to get you started
Wellness Essentials & Blueprint Plans: Custom quoted based on your specific needs and level of support
Personal Training Add-ons: 4 sessions $300, 8 sessions $560, 12 sessions $780
During our initial consultation, we'll discuss which option aligns best with your goals and situation. I believe wellness support should be accessible, so we'll find an approach that works for you.
Q: What happens during a typical coaching session?
A: Each session is structured around your specific goals within our six wellness pillars. We start by reviewing your progress since our last meeting, address any challenges you're facing, and work together on practical solutions. I provide science-based guidance on topics like nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management, but everything is tailored to your lifestyle and preferences. Sessions typically include goal-setting, problem-solving, and creating actionable steps you can implement before we meet again. It's collaborative, not prescriptive.
Q: Do you work with LGBTQ+ clients?
A: Absolutely. I'm committed to creating an inclusive, affirming space for all clients, and I particularly welcome LGBTQ+ individuals. I understand that wellness journeys can be more complex when you're navigating identity, community, and sometimes additional stressors. My approach is always respectful of your unique experiences and needs. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+ professionals who appreciate having a coach who gets it and creates a truly safe space for their wellness journey.
Q: I'm really busy - how much time does this require?
A: I specifically work with busy professionals, so I get it. The time commitment depends on which program you choose, but I design everything to fit into real life, not add more stress. Sessions can be scheduled around your availability, and the strategies we develop are meant to integrate into your existing routine, not create a whole new schedule. We focus on small, sustainable changes that build momentum over time rather than overwhelming overhauls.
Q: Is this done online or in-person?
A: I offer both options. Most of my coaching is done online, which works great for busy schedules and allows me to work with clients nationwide (primarily East Coast urban areas). If you're in the D.C. area, we can also do in-person sessions or workshops. Online sessions are just as effective and often more convenient for maintaining consistency.
Q: What if I've tried other wellness programs before and they didn't work?
A: That's exactly why I focus on science-based, individualized approaches rather than generic programs. Many wellness programs fail because they're not tailored to your specific situation, lifestyle, or the way your brain works. We start by understanding what didn't work before and why, then build a completely different approach that fits you. My background in behavioral science helps us identify and overcome the real barriers to change, not just give you another list of things to do.
